Co has been doing some funny things this week that I wanted to document before I forgot them. I have a running list in my head that I'm already starting to forget.
~Lately we have been showing our house a LOT, sometimes I'll have 3 people in one day, it's totally exhausting...but Co LOVES it! He loves the visitors, and he especially loves showing them around, making sure not to leave out showing them his toys. Most people comment on how he's a great realtor, he shows them where his Wall-E vitamins reside, his helicopter, train set and whatever else he sees as he's walking around with them. When they are checking out the garage he repeatedly says "do you see my car?" when they head towards my bedroom he says "do you want to see my mom and dad's bedroom?", "Look at the shower, look at the tub, look at the closet, do you see the potty?" And the people viewing the house..instead of being annoyed...they eat him up. They usually ask how old he is, and when I tell them he turned 2 in July...they are always shocked. They usually think he is 3.
~Last Thursday we were following behind J on our way to the cell phone store and Co said, "where did dad go?" I said "he's in front of us in the truck." Co said "You're right mom! Dad is in front of us in the truck." His vocabulary frequently cracks me up because he talks like he's 5. Another thing he's been saying that makes me laugh is "alright". He used to trick you into things by saying "okay" (ie. Him: I want some cookies! Me: You want some cookies? Him: Okay!, like it was my idea and he agrees) now he says "You come with me...alright?" "I want some cookies...alright?"
~Occasionally, like most children, Co goes through eating spurts, one day he eats REALLY good, as much as J and I, and other days not so good. A few days ago J was resulting to the airplane just to get him to eat a few bites of something else besides Jello. Last night Co was doing the airplane to himself. He would cover his mouth with one hand, then get a scoop of food, make the "zooming" noise as he flew his spoon around, then at the last second, he would uncover his mouth and let the food into the hanger.
~Co frequently steals J's glasses, he has never minded because they are the frame-less glasses that bend (although it's taught him a very bad habit because now he steals everyone's glasses and they aren't bendable) anyway, J was wrestling with him last Saturday and Co went to steal his glasses, and J said "Swiper no swiping, swiper no swiping..." and Co stole his glasses and yelled "You're toooo late!" I didn't even know he had picked up on this part of the show because most of the time they get their 3 swiper no swipings in before he can steal their stuff and he says "oh man" instead of "you're too late."
~Co is definitely going through the phase that little girls would go through with dolls but he does it with all his stuff animals. Talks to them, puts them in time out, wraps them in blankets because they are cold and he tells me what they want to do (watch tv with him, eat snacks with him, etc.) Yesterday he insisted his dog, tiger and GIANT polar bear (this bear is bigger than him) were tired too and they wanted to take a nap, in his bed with him. Needless to say his bed was a bit packed with him, his animals, pillow and his 6+ blankets he insists on having also.
~This morning, Co wanted to show me his rubber lizard in the bath tub, he said "babe come see my lizard in the bath tub" Sometimes he'll call J by his first name instead of daddy, but this is a new one. The things kids pick up on crack me up.
~Right now as I'm typing this post, I'm listening to Co yell, "Daddy is that you? Daddy is that you?" Who knows who he's yelling it to...J left for work a hr ago. But sometimes he'll put his face right in mine and yell "mommy is that you?"
What a fun age! Although the tantrums, not listening and hitting is NOT fun...he makes me laugh everyday with the stuff he comes up with. I'm very thankful for my healthy fun little boy who brings so much life into our family. I often wonder what we use to do with all our time before we had him. I'm also thankful for my healthy little bun in the oven, who is sure to bring twice as much fun as one.
