It's a...

I've been saying I was 90% sure I was having a girl. Among other things to make be believe I was having a girl, I'm carrying this pregnancy way different than Co. And...my instincts were right!

ITS A GIRL!!!

2 more to add to my list...

I remembered 2 more things Co has been doing that either cracks me up or amazes me (Funny how I know he has such a GREAT memory and yet it still amazes me every time.)

~This morning as Co came down stairs and woke us up, as he does every morning, he hopped into our bed, like usual to watch a few cartoons. But this morning as J asked him what he wanted to watch, he asked if he wanted to watch "The movers" (aka Imagination Movers). He said "No....I like to move it move it." I started laughing and asked him if he knew what movie that was from. Which of course he did, to my amazement he said, "Madacasgar" :) Sometimes I love it when he mixes letters up because it reminds me how much a little child depends on you to teach them EVERYTHING they know. (Occasionally he calls Lucky Charms, Chucky Larms, and Buffalo, Buffaload...and it makes me smile)

~The other thing he has been saying that I love is "How bout..." He does use this word correctly some times but the days when he puts it in front of almost everything he says...not so much. For example, him using it correctly is when I say "Do you want some crackers?" and he says "How bout some fruit snacks?" Incorrectly...when he randomly says "Mom how bout this... blanket...book...show?" Or whatever it is he wants to show me but puts "How bout" in front of it.

My source of entertainment...

Co has been doing some funny things this week that I wanted to document before I forgot them. I have a running list in my head that I'm already starting to forget.

~Lately we have been showing our house a LOT, sometimes I'll have 3 people in one day, it's totally exhausting...but Co LOVES it! He loves the visitors, and he especially loves showing them around, making sure not to leave out showing them his toys. Most people comment on how he's a great realtor, he shows them where his Wall-E vitamins reside, his helicopter, train set and whatever else he sees as he's walking around with them. When they are checking out the garage he repeatedly says "do you see my car?" when they head towards my bedroom he says "do you want to see my mom and dad's bedroom?", "Look at the shower, look at the tub, look at the closet, do you see the potty?" And the people viewing the house..instead of being annoyed...they eat him up. They usually ask how old he is, and when I tell them he turned 2 in July...they are always shocked. They usually think he is 3.

~Last Thursday we were following behind J on our way to the cell phone store and Co said, "where did dad go?" I said "he's in front of us in the truck." Co said "You're right mom! Dad is in front of us in the truck." His vocabulary frequently cracks me up because he talks like he's 5. Another thing he's been saying that makes me laugh is "alright". He used to trick you into things by saying "okay" (ie. Him: I want some cookies! Me: You want some cookies? Him: Okay!, like it was my idea and he agrees) now he says "You come with me...alright?" "I want some cookies...alright?"

~Occasionally, like most children, Co goes through eating spurts, one day he eats REALLY good, as much as J and I, and other days not so good. A few days ago J was resulting to the airplane just to get him to eat a few bites of something else besides Jello. Last night Co was doing the airplane to himself. He would cover his mouth with one hand, then get a scoop of food, make the "zooming" noise as he flew his spoon around, then at the last second, he would uncover his mouth and let the food into the hanger.

~Co frequently steals J's glasses, he has never minded because they are the frame-less glasses that bend (although it's taught him a very bad habit because now he steals everyone's glasses and they aren't bendable) anyway, J was wrestling with him last Saturday and Co went to steal his glasses, and J said "Swiper no swiping, swiper no swiping..." and Co stole his glasses and yelled "You're toooo late!" I didn't even know he had picked up on this part of the show because most of the time they get their 3 swiper no swipings in before he can steal their stuff and he says "oh man" instead of "you're too late."

~Co is definitely going through the phase that little girls would go through with dolls but he does it with all his stuff animals. Talks to them, puts them in time out, wraps them in blankets because they are cold and he tells me what they want to do (watch tv with him, eat snacks with him, etc.) Yesterday he insisted his dog, tiger and GIANT polar bear (this bear is bigger than him) were tired too and they wanted to take a nap, in his bed with him. Needless to say his bed was a bit packed with him, his animals, pillow and his 6+ blankets he insists on having also.

~This morning, Co wanted to show me his rubber lizard in the bath tub, he said "babe come see my lizard in the bath tub" Sometimes he'll call J by his first name instead of daddy, but this is a new one. The things kids pick up on crack me up.

~Right now as I'm typing this post, I'm listening to Co yell, "Daddy is that you? Daddy is that you?" Who knows who he's yelling it to...J left for work a hr ago. But sometimes he'll put his face right in mine and yell "mommy is that you?"

What a fun age! Although the tantrums, not listening and hitting is NOT fun...he makes me laugh everyday with the stuff he comes up with. I'm very thankful for my healthy fun little boy who brings so much life into our family. I often wonder what we use to do with all our time before we had him. I'm also thankful for my healthy little bun in the oven, who is sure to bring twice as much fun as one.

Any guesses??

Shortly I will be finding out what my little baby is going to be and I won't have to call the baby, baby anymore. Instead I can call her baby girl or him baby boy, little brother or little sister to Co. Either way the baby still won't have an actual name until a day after they are born if it's anything naming Cohen. Put in your guesses now! And try not to be influenced by what sex I think the baby is...although I have pretty convincing evidence why I think the baby is what it is.

Dora? Diego?

So last Saturday, Nov 7, I had made Co a waffle for breakfast. I had cut it up and after he had been eating it for a while he decided to count the pieces he had left...in SPANISH!!! What?? Are you kidding? At least he's getting something useful from Dora or Diego. He loves those shows. It took a min to register what he was actually saying but when I realized he was counting in Spanish I was more than shocked. He skipped 4 but he got: Uno, dose, tres, cinco, ocho. I'm telling you Co has got a memory like no other.

Opening Shop!!!

Over the last 6 or 7 months, I have been making custom hand made items such as flirty aprons, baby dresses, car seat canopies and more. I've just been doing it by word of mouth, but as more and more people want things made I decided I should create a blog to make life a little more simple. The blog is www.cocobelladesign.blogspot.com, it has the current items I can make for you with their prices. I try to be extremely competitive in my pricing with comparable items because I, like most everyone, hate feeling ripped off. Keep your eyes open for new items to come!

Family Pictures

I don't know that our blog will ever be "up to date" but here's an update. Our little Cocopuff turned 2 last month. The month of July was compeltely crazy full and so sadly I still haven't blogged about his 2 year birthday and accomplishments or posted 2 year pictures. The 2 year pictures aren't posted...because I haven't taken them yet. The intent was to take family pictures and his 2 year pictures at the same time. Unfortunately this first picture is the ONLY family picture he is even half smiling in. It turns out Co is more interested in sticks, rocks and dirt than taking pictures...hard to believe, I know. Here is the best of what we got, not great...but what do you do with a 2 year old who is just NOT interested. I think we may have needed a full on clown behind our friend taking the pictures to get him to pay attention or smile. More updates to come...

Trip Cont.

4-wheeling and more in the plane

Off to Arizona

On our way to Arizona from Colorado we passed through Moab and Co spotted an Elephant as we passed a little sign that said Zoo. We weren't in a hurry to get to Arizona so we turned around and went back to the Zoo. It was our kind of Zoo. Small, no people and cool animals that you could hand feed. It only cost $3.75 per person and Co was free. You could buy a bucket of food for $5 to feed all the animals and then a special little cup of food for th e Wallaby for a $1.25. They had a Wallaby, pony, donkey, 2 deer, 2 goats, 2 sheep, pot belly pig, Zebra, 2 exotic looking cows, an assorment of birds, camel, buffaload (as Co calls them, sadly Josh and I don't correct him because we think it's cute) and 2 Ortriches. Co ran from animal to animal. He has some sort of strange love for cows and kept coming back to them. He talked about feeding the goats and deer carrots for over a week. On our drive home he kept asking to "see the animals on the camera" and now that I've loaded them to the computer we look at them as least once a day. He seriously could go to the zoo everyday and never be bored. We did learn that deer are picky eaters. They wouldn't eat the carrots or the peanuts we had, only the grain. And the wallaby would only eat our grapes.

When we arried in Arizona we got out of the car and the first thing Co saw was an airplane and said "Airplane! I drive it?" Josh's grandparents live in the mountains on a private airstrip and everyone has their own hangers connected to their cabin type houses. His grandpa has 5 small planes so Co was very excited to see them all. While in AZ we went to the driving range, went and shot guns (I look like a have a grunt face but it's really because my other eye is closed and I'm aiming. Co played in the sand box for hours, and Co went flying for the first time in a small airplane, while Josh flew and his dad was the co-pilot. Co was so excited, as we were on the taxi runway, he was jabbering away. As soon as we started to take off he noted how "fast" we were and then the fear struck. He didn't cry but he turned around to face me instead of sit on my lap and he just kept looking out the windows with worried eyes. We made it a short flight. When he landed he said "again!" Josh's uncle Cary opened the door and Co yelled "I fly the airplane in the sky!!!" he was so excited, after it was all said and done.

Colorado

Our trip started in Colorado with my sister's little boy Jake's baby blessing. We left late Friday night and got there about midnight. The next morning the kids went on a little scavenger walk. The picture of all of the kids in their 4th of july shirts is right before the walk. All the kids are my brother-in-laws side of the family. Cohen had fun playing with them all. After the hike we spent the whole day at Brandon's Aunt and Uncle's pool. Their set-up is awesome. They have a normal pool and then a little kiddie pool right next to it that is perfect for Co's age. He LOVED it and cried when I put him down for a nap 3 hours late and then kept asking to get back in after his nap. He had been taking swim lessons prior to our trip so he showed everyone he could float on his back. He loved to hold his breath in the kiddie pool and walk his hands along the bottom until he got to the other side. They also had a slide into the big pool that he loved. They have a HUGE patio and we all enjoyed being outside all day, eating YUMMY food. We decided to stay an extra day and go to this place called the Moon Farm. It is a bit run down but Co didn't know the difference. They have probably 20+ little houses all decorated for different coutries or themes. This castle is one of them. Josh and I were blown away by all the work put into the place. They also have farm animals that Co LOVED, we spent at least 40 min walking back and forth through them (horses, a cow, goats, chickens, peacocks, bunnies, ponies, and geese. Then to top it all off we rode the carousel that you run yourself. Its an old lady who owns the place so you just pay her when you get there and help yourself to anything they have to offer. Unfortunately none of the ponies were hooked up when we were there.

23 Months!!

I can't believe I've been a mom for almost 2 years already. Although it doesn't seem like I had Co yesterday anymore, it does still seem like he should only be about 9 months old. He is seriously the funnest little boy and I can't believe what a big boy he is already.

Yesterday we took him to his first Strawberry Day's Carnival. He
loved it! He rode 3 rides BY HIMSELF and would whine when his turn was over. First he rode what I would call a an automobile carousel that had cool cars, jeeps and motorcycles for the kids to ride. His first choice was a cool blue car, he wanted to ride again and the 2nd time we put him on a motorcycle (The motor cycle was a little too big for him and he ended up holding on to 1 handle bar and then one side bar.) Then after he rode that ride twice he went and rode the Circus Train. This was a cute little train that went in a small circle and played music. Each kid had their own steering wheel. This was the hardest ride to part with. We also paid a whole bunch of money for gross food that we kept expecting to be good. The best thing we got was a Lime in the Coconut drink and the strawberries and cream. We tried a deep fried Twinkie, some curly fries, and bratwursts none were that great.

Co is getting better and better at talking everyday. One of my favorite things he does and has been doing for a while, Josh and I call a trick. He will say he wants something like more grapes (which he is COMPLETELY addicted to) or cookies. We will repeat what he says like a question "more grapes?", then he says "OK" like it was your idea. Then he smiles because he knows that seals the deal. And you sort of feel like you need to get him what he's asking for because some how by repeating what he first said, you actually agreed he could have it. He'll trick you every time!

Josh and I have already learned Co will be choosing friends over us. Its the nature of almost every child and teenager, but we were a little shocked it starts so young. He loves to play at his friends houses and as soon as you tell him he gets to go play with a friend he is immediately at the door saying who ever's house we're going to play at over and over. Usually its Chase, Peyton, Easton, Liv's or his cousins house he's so excited to go to.

He has an amazing memory. He can recall people's names he h
as only heard a few times and hasn't seen in a few weeks. This memorization talent will come in very handy while studying for tests when he's older.

He has become quite the runner. Last Sunday he had been running around our bedroom and he told me to "run fast mommy" so I asked him if he wanted to race and he said "ready, set, go" and he took off. I literally chased him around the kitchen table at least 20 times, around the kitchen island and back into the bed room for a half hour and not once did he start walking. When we would get back to the bedroom we would start our race again but every time I would ask him if he needed a drink and instead he would take off again. He just go, go, goes. Maybe he will be a runner like me!

He loves "bike rides". We have a bike trailer we hook up behind my road bike but right now it has a flat tire so we have the running wheel on the trailer instead (we still tell him it's a bike ride.) We always put him in it to go see the "mommy and baby horsies" and the "stinky cows". The other day I actually went running with him (which is super hard if you've never tried it, you get so exhausted when you can't pump your arms while running) Anyway, there was a tiny pony someone had tied on the outside of their fence, I think so he could eat the weeds on the outside, but we stopped and he came over and we pet him a min and then Co kept asking him if he "wanted some" while holding my water bottle up to him. I didn't exactly want to be sharing my water with the horse but what a nice boy to share. He also tries to share his water with me while I'm "rock-a-baby" ing him before bed. He tries to shove anything in his hands in my mouth and if he has nothing, he shoves his hands in my mouth and occasionally up my nose. He thinks he's pretty funny. When he shoves his hands in he always says "bite you"

Sometimes when he's done with his food now he will start h
anding it to me piece by piece and either tell me to put it in the trash or put it in the sink.

He knows the names and sounds of all the animals I can think of including similar but different animals and items (regular bears, panda, koala, polar) (lion, tiger, leopard) (sim
ilar looking birds, parrot) (truck, jeep) to name a few. Lately anything that is small he calls "baby whatever"

Its possible I'm a tad too uptight about messy and clean beca
use now Co, who is 1 points out when things are "messy". Yesterday we were playing at Chase's in the sprinklers and pool and he had gotten water on the cement, which made spots. He hadn't noticed at the time but he came back a few min later and told me that was messy. At least he will always be a clean boy!

He's also in a hitting phase...I CAN'T WAIT for this phase to be over. Consequently he has to say he's sorry a lot...to everything. The other day I was taking him out to the car and he wanted to get down and play outside and when I said we were getting in the car he got made and threw the truck in his hand, which happened to hit my car. I got mad and told him no, no and to tell the car sorry. He said sorry and then 2 seconds after he was in his car seat he was saying "sorry truck, sorry truck". I think he's had to say sorry to me too many times because sometimes he'll do something he knows he should do and he immediately says "sorry mommy."

I keep forgetting to write this down so he did this months ago but I always thought it was cute and funny. He would try to pick up something like a dog out of a book and say "come here doggy."

He loves to say "bless you" many many times after anyone sneezes. I think it's because I respond with "thank you cohen" and he responds with "bless you mommy" and its a big circle. He's also very good at saying "excuse me" when he burps.

He has started to do more of the things I consider to be the toddler age.
We have our comforter folded up and placed on the ground next to our bed when not in use. He has discovered he can climb up onto the fireplace hearth and DIVE off into the comforter and pillows. He also does this off the couch upstairs onto pillows. However, he learned it doesn't feel good when you dive off the foot rest onto the floor with NO pillows the hard way.

He is so fun and I can't even remember what we did without him.

Sorry the post got so long...that's what happens when this is the only place I write things down and I got months in between posts! Here are some pics!

As promised...

I know I promised well over a month ago that I would post pictures of what I have been crafting...here they FINALLY are!! As you can tell I've been spending my free time mostly sewing instead of blogging. These aren't even all my projects but it's most of them. I'll post a few more later (and with my track record by that I mean in a month :)

A quick run down of what has happened in the last 2 months:
~Josh and I passed our 6 year anniversary! Yeah for us!
~Cohen passed his 22 month mark and his 23 month mark is tomorrow! Yikes only 1 more month until my not really baby is 2!
~All three of us had the flu...thankfully it wasn't the swine flu!
~ I was released from my activity day calling and am now back in young women's!
~ I've sewed about a million things.
~Took Cohen to the zoo for the first time
~My brother's wife had their baby girl.
~My sister had her baby boy.
~And...I cut bangs!!

I'll post again about the fun things Cohen has been doing these days. But for now here is the start of my crafts:

Still my baby!

Its true that Co is no longer an actual baby but there is no reason he can't still play in his good ol' infant carrier I was so fond of. I just can't belive how big he looks in it now. Yikes! He hit his 21 month mark a few weeks ago, so it will seem like a matter of days before my "baby' turns 2! He is so grown up from last summer, which is fun, but sad. He is so stinking smart, sometimes too smart, and learns more and more everyday. The week after I had gotten home from our trip (3/21/09) to be exact, he was jumping on our neighbors trampoline when all of a sudden he said "One, two thee, four, sic, seven, eight, ten!" 8 out of 10 in order is pretty good for a 1 year old. I was completely shocked. I count with him all the time but he's never counted to 10 by himself. And he actually knows 5 and 9, because sometimes he just say, five, sic, five, sic or nine, ten, nine ten. He also has learned more of his letters, signing more words to his songs and is talking in more complete sentences. When we were in Fallon, there were a few times I noticed he was getting so much better. On one instance I was doing my hair and he had gone into his room, gotten his pacifier then brought it back to me and said, "I found my paci!" That's a complete sentence in my book. He is currently getting all his incisor teeth in so he's almost got a full mouth of teeth. He still loves playing outside, playing with friends (which knows by name Chase, Emma, Conner, Haylie, Kayla, Peyt, Savannah and Kate and usually cries or is at least sad when they have to leave) watching movies and he still LOVES animals, stuffed, plastic, real, whatever. He is now to the point where he will sometimes ask for specific food, usually, yogurt, cheese, milk, juice, water, crackies, raisies, and snacks (fruit snacks). Most people think it's strange I give him so many hair cuts but they don't understand how fast his hair grows. I literally cut this much off at least once a month, if not a little more often.

Busy Bee!

I'm such a hot/cold blogger...for which I apologize to my friends who send hate mail to update. But I just get so busy and then when I have a free moment, its not usually spent blogging.

Starting with Easter...my mom was in town for one of her best friend's son's weddings for just a few days. I had been planning on going to Fallon for a while to see my parents new business they are opening and offer any help I could (considering my parents will drive 8 hours at the drop of a hat if we are in need of their help). So I decided to drive home with my mom and then fly back. Here is a picture of Easter morning. The Easter bunny went a little over board on hiding Easter eggs for a 1-year old. He picked up about 4 and was done. Sorry bunny, maybe next year your efforts will be appreciated.
But he loved the toys!!

I couldn't dedicate my whole trip to helping with a 1 year old in tow but I did help cutting her fabric for curtains, covers, and anything else she was making. Plus I brought dinner to them every night, and did the dishes so they came home to a clean house. Co had a blast playing with Roxy my parents tea cup poodle (she kept following her around saying "ride, ride" haha, sorry coco, you're a little too big!) loved running around outside playing at their "park" they have some toys that are actually from a park all set up at their house. He ran around crazy helping Papa at the Health Center and gym. All the ladies that came to the gym loved him. And he especially loved the bunnies that visit Grandma and Papa's backyard...every time Co talked about the bunnies he'd say "He's fast!" We came home just in time for Josh's birthday. Co loved daddy's airplane birthday cake! I spent the next week getting back into the swing of things and preparing for bunco at my house. Then preparing for our semi-annual activity day activity for the girls and their mom's.
Watching Tarzan on the treadmill and yoga mat at the gym. He loved this!

Helping Papa set up the Infared Sauna. He stayed busy running the empty halls and eating Papa's lunch! Co has been a on plane 2 other times but was too small to remember or realize what was going on. He thought the plane was pretty cool and was VERY good, and super friendly to everyone sitting around us. He repeatedly told them Hi, until they responded. Thankfully, the flight wasn't full so he was able to sit next to me in his own seat. He colored, watched a movie and ate LOTS of snacks. He also liked to look out the window.
What else have I been doing that has kept me from my blogging duties? Sewing! I've really gotten into it lately. I don't LOVE to sew, I just love the end result and maybe it's my frugal upbringing but when I see something that looks like a rip-off and easy enough for me to make...I've decided to make it myself, and so far, I've been successful. Sewing project pictures to come.

20 months and counting

I'm still a little behind on blogging but a week ago Co hit his 20 month mark. I can't belive my little boy is closer to 2 than to 1, yikes!!! He has been so much fun, and I'm actually really greatful that I won't have a new born baby this summer (I say that because I always said I would space my kids 2 years apart, things change when its reality) Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the fun summer we will have with Co. Last summer I thought we'd have more freedom because he wasn't a new born but then it came and he was taking 4-5hrs of naps during the day, which was great, don't get me wrong I LOVED his naps, I was always able to get so much accomplished but it was very limiting to what we could go do. This summer really will be FUN!! He loves playing with all the neighbors and running around outside, jumping on their trampolines, petting thier dogs, etc. But I can't wait to "DO" more fun things with him that he will love this summer.

This week has been a hard week. I know I have been spoiled with an EASY child, compared to most. And that's why the trantrums and the whinning drive me more crazy than they should, I'm not use to it and I expect more out of my child because I KNOW that's not his real personality. My child doesn't throw tantrums, and I'm not just saying that. He gets mad about things but there is difference between being upset and throwing a tantrum. I'm pretty sure its due to one of his bottom molars but seriously!! He knows the words for almost everything yet in this last week he has just resorted to whinning. But I don't give in to the whinning...so Im not sure why he's still doing it. Come on little tooth!! Just pop your nasty little head through already!! Onto a happier note, he learns and picks things up so quickly it amazes me. Its hard to stay what milestones they hit in the month now because they starting hitting them so rapidly but he has started talking sentences more and putting more and more words together and copying phrases we use:
- I'll get it
- want some, pease (please)
- Bye, bye, momma, doggy, daddy, whatever
- open it, close it, shut it
- There she/he/it is
-where is she/he/it
-oh gosh
-we're home
-let's go
-out/in there

The list goes on and on, I can't even think of all the things he says because he can basically say anything to ask him to say. He remembers a few of his friends names, he likes TONS of movies now instead of just 3. He leaves the "f" off most words except four and five. He has finally started saying the number 1 again, but he will aslo say 2. He knows 10 comes after 9, and part of the alphabet: ABC, PQ, TUV, YZ. If I ask him to sing me a song he will always sing me "ABC". He started saying the word "star" again instead of "how I" like it says in the song. He noticed the B, in Banana, and has started saying Bana, instead of nana. He also started saying gram-ma. This is a word he had refused to stay. One day I heard him through the monitor's saying gram-ma over and over. What a little stinker! His list of animals and their sounds is also endless, he knows so many I can't remember what they are. He knows who he is and can say his name, which is kind of a hard name to pronouce for a little kid. He got croup a few weeks ago and when I took him to the Dr. he weighed 24lbs, so he's finally getting a little heavier. He now has all 8 of his front teeth, both top molars and his right bottom molar, its the left bottom molar that is being stubborn. He is a much pickier eater now but still will eat a good variety. He will play a very simple hide and seek and always wants to do things him "self", that's what he says to you.
And he still has ABSOLUTELY NO interest in sitting on the potty. He always has been one to do things on his OWN time and terms (delivery, crawling, walking). Thankgoodness he had talking on a quicker time schedule!! I am VERY grateful for this because this is one of the reasons he's never been a whinner, he just always told me what he wanted. His latest whinning and trantrums aside he still is such a good little boy and we are so blessed to get to take care of him.

These are his cute aviator sunglasses I got him, that he broke the very same day. Darn it!

JUMP ON IT!!

Co LOVES trampolines and frequently helps himself to our next door neighbors (Thanks Audi). Everytime he sees a trampoline he says "jump, jump, jump", until I let him or tell him we can't right now. He actually just loves anything he can jump on, his bed and my excercise ball work well for him too. Today we decided to go to Jump On It. It has over 10.000sq of trampolines. Co loved it! He seriously loves jumping (i'm trying to teach him to ask his daddy for a tramp for his birthday...if he adds the pease, his dad can't resist:) so this place was heaven for him to go from one tramp to the next. But today we learned a trick! Kids under 3 are free! The trick is not jumping with them. They charge $8 an hr for an adult to jump so if you jump with them its $8 but if you watch from the side lines its a free outing. This actually works out perfect for me because Co doesn't like you to jump with him or hold him and jump, he likes to do it all by himself. He's pretty good. I think I'll be going there more often.
