20 months and counting

I'm still a little behind on blogging but a week ago Co hit his 20 month mark. I can't belive my little boy is closer to 2 than to 1, yikes!!! He has been so much fun, and I'm actually really greatful that I won't have a new born baby this summer (I say that because I always said I would space my kids 2 years apart, things change when its reality) Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the fun summer we will have with Co. Last summer I thought we'd have more freedom because he wasn't a new born but then it came and he was taking 4-5hrs of naps during the day, which was great, don't get me wrong I LOVED his naps, I was always able to get so much accomplished but it was very limiting to what we could go do. This summer really will be FUN!! He loves playing with all the neighbors and running around outside, jumping on their trampolines, petting thier dogs, etc. But I can't wait to "DO" more fun things with him that he will love this summer.

This week has been a hard week. I know I have been spoiled with an EASY child, compared to most. And that's why the trantrums and the whinning drive me more crazy than they should, I'm not use to it and I expect more out of my child because I KNOW that's not his real personality. My child doesn't throw tantrums, and I'm not just saying that. He gets mad about things but there is difference between being upset and throwing a tantrum. I'm pretty sure its due to one of his bottom molars but seriously!! He knows the words for almost everything yet in this last week he has just resorted to whinning. But I don't give in to the whinning...so Im not sure why he's still doing it. Come on little tooth!! Just pop your nasty little head through already!! Onto a happier note, he learns and picks things up so quickly it amazes me. Its hard to stay what milestones they hit in the month now because they starting hitting them so rapidly but he has started talking sentences more and putting more and more words together and copying phrases we use:
- I'll get it
- want some, pease (please)
- Bye, bye, momma, doggy, daddy, whatever
- open it, close it, shut it
- There she/he/it is
-where is she/he/it
-oh gosh
-we're home
-let's go
-out/in there

The list goes on and on, I can't even think of all the things he says because he can basically say anything to ask him to say. He remembers a few of his friends names, he likes TONS of movies now instead of just 3. He leaves the "f" off most words except four and five. He has finally started saying the number 1 again, but he will aslo say 2. He knows 10 comes after 9, and part of the alphabet: ABC, PQ, TUV, YZ. If I ask him to sing me a song he will always sing me "ABC". He started saying the word "star" again instead of "how I" like it says in the song. He noticed the B, in Banana, and has started saying Bana, instead of nana. He also started saying gram-ma. This is a word he had refused to stay. One day I heard him through the monitor's saying gram-ma over and over. What a little stinker! His list of animals and their sounds is also endless, he knows so many I can't remember what they are. He knows who he is and can say his name, which is kind of a hard name to pronouce for a little kid. He got croup a few weeks ago and when I took him to the Dr. he weighed 24lbs, so he's finally getting a little heavier. He now has all 8 of his front teeth, both top molars and his right bottom molar, its the left bottom molar that is being stubborn. He is a much pickier eater now but still will eat a good variety. He will play a very simple hide and seek and always wants to do things him "self", that's what he says to you.
And he still has ABSOLUTELY NO interest in sitting on the potty. He always has been one to do things on his OWN time and terms (delivery, crawling, walking). Thankgoodness he had talking on a quicker time schedule!! I am VERY grateful for this because this is one of the reasons he's never been a whinner, he just always told me what he wanted. His latest whinning and trantrums aside he still is such a good little boy and we are so blessed to get to take care of him.

These are his cute aviator sunglasses I got him, that he broke the very same day. Darn it!

JUMP ON IT!!

Co LOVES trampolines and frequently helps himself to our next door neighbors (Thanks Audi). Everytime he sees a trampoline he says "jump, jump, jump", until I let him or tell him we can't right now. He actually just loves anything he can jump on, his bed and my excercise ball work well for him too. Today we decided to go to Jump On It. It has over 10.000sq of trampolines. Co loved it! He seriously loves jumping (i'm trying to teach him to ask his daddy for a tramp for his birthday...if he adds the pease, his dad can't resist:) so this place was heaven for him to go from one tramp to the next. But today we learned a trick! Kids under 3 are free! The trick is not jumping with them. They charge $8 an hr for an adult to jump so if you jump with them its $8 but if you watch from the side lines its a free outing. This actually works out perfect for me because Co doesn't like you to jump with him or hold him and jump, he likes to do it all by himself. He's pretty good. I think I'll be going there more often.

Rare occassion

VERY rarely are my siblings in town at the same time. Especially because most of us live in different states. But a few weekends ago my sister and brother and their families were in town at the same time for different reasons which miraculously put me, my two brothers and my sister all in the same state for a few hours. As my sister and her family were on their way out of town we were able to manage a last min dinner plan for all us. I thought dinner went rather smoothly and we had 9 kids, half of which are under age 2. After dinner all the kids ran around on a grassy hill next to the resturant for a while before heading our seperate ways. Although we were missing my foster brother and family, it was still fun we could get together for a few hrs. This picture is all the cousins, we couldn't get the little ones to sit still so we were just thankful they were all looking the same way, even if it wasn't at the camera.

More Holidays

Playing in the snow!

So I've missed blogging a few holidays...

Thanks to a very generous neighbor, my computer is up and running again. And since all my pictures were saved on my desk top I got a TAD behind on blogging all my holidays, starting with Halloween:) Here are just a few pictures of our holidays (start at the bottom)

A wagon for christmas from Grandpa and Grandma C. Making sugar cookies for Santa!
I finally found these really cute kids ties online and this was his first time wearing it. He's so grown up!
Doesn't my baby make the cutest dragon? It was so fun to watch him walk because his tail wagged behind him. I tried to get Josh to dress up as a couple with me but he couldn't make any decisions on what he wanted to be, so last min I threw in the towel and bought a witches hat. Then he actually got creative on me and went as the Joker.
Our first family pumpkin carving. Last year our cocopuff was in bed when we carved them. This year, he watched carefully and touched only on occasion. He did reach his had all the way in though.

Birthday Hoorah's!

I was fortunate enough to go out 3 times for my birthday. Once with a whole bunch of my neighbors...which can I just brag for a min that my neighborhood rocks. Most of the neighborhood is 30's and younger, the average age child is prob 7, so lots of little friends for Co to play with and we do tons of neighborhood get togethers such as BBQ's, outdoor movies, dutch oven cook out, annual Christmas party, munch and mingle to collect winter items for the soup kitchen, neighborhood girls night out and quite a few of us go biking together. We LOVE our neighbors!!! Anyway, 2 of them organized a night out for us at "G's" for mine and another neighbors birthday, but it was on my birthday so it was extra fun night out for me. Plus I came home to a 2 layer birthday cake my husband had made for me, that he so nicely iced with pudding since most frosting makes me want to vomit.

Then I went to lunch the next day with a ton of my Bunco friends (most of them were my friends before I started my bunco group) which was super fun because we all had our kidos (except Amanda) and they all had a good time plus I loved our set-up of controlled chaos, which included 3 tables, 8 moms and 7 kids (6 in highchairs). It was a fun afternoon, after which we all agreed we need to do more often.

Then Friday night I went to dinner with my family to Red Robin. I LOVE Red Robin and I hadn't been in a while so I had been wanting to go. Coco LOVED riding the escalator like a big boy (meaning getting on and off while just holding my hand) while we were burning time waiting for our name to be called. And then he LOVED Red, the bird. While other kids screamed in Red's face, Coco wanted to give him high fives and kisses. Basically his dinner time was consumed by finding the current location of Red. Plus he had his first taste of soda. (Its puts a pucker on his face.)

Thanks to everyone for my fun birthday celebrations. It even made turning the ugly 26 fun!

Are you kidding me??

If you read the below post you will learn that I am a reality tv junkie. (Bachelor, American Idol, The Amazing Race, Hell's Kitchen, Celebrity Apprentice, Dancing with the Stars, just to name a few we are currently watching) Anyway, I didn't even get mad about the Bachelor, I was completely shocked things played out the way they did but I agree with Jason getting out of a situation he didn't feel right about before more was invested. However he probably could have humilated Melissa a little less on national television. But American Idol just ticked me off! Are you freaking kidding that you brought back Tatiana??? NO ONE likes her!! Why on earth wouldn't you bring back someone else that actually had a chance to make it into the top 12. She's just going to get kicked off again tonight, what a waste of a spot!!

GAG ME!!

So yesterday was my 26th birthday. I always LOVE birthday's, infact I usually refer to my birthday as my birthday month. If I buy my self a shirt, go to lunch, get a pedicure in the month of March...it's because it's my birthday month. I have never minded getting older...until now! 26 is such a terrible number. It's the downhill to 30. Yuck! I know to all of the people reading my blog who are 30+ are thinking how rude I am for bagging on 30 and thinking 26 is still young...but to those of you thinking that, I bet you hated 26 too! 25 is the last decent age. I think I would have liked to stay the perfect age of 23 forever, not too old, not too young. Never the less, I am 26, never to see 23 again. Here are 26 quirks about me:

1. I HATE Chinease food!

2. I've had 21 teeth pulled (13 baby, 4 permanent and 4 wisdom)

3. I LOVE red meat!

4. I like to cook.

5. Despite all my mom's best efforts to teach me to sew when I was young, I hated it; but now am learning to like it. I have even begun to look at things to try and figure out how they're made so I can knock off their version:)

6. I'm a reality TV show junkie.

7. I LOVE being a mom but the time goes by so fast I'm not in a rush to have the next one.

8. I like a clean house, some would call it un-liveable (because they are afraid to touch something for fear I might get mad at them for making it dirty, and there is a good chance I might get mad...unless your name is Cohen.)

9. 95% of the time I pick my house up before going to bed, waking up to a messy house starts my day off bad.

10. I HATE dishes in the sink. (you can thank my slob roommates freshman year at SUU for this pet peeve.)

11. I'm an avid believer that for almost everything there is more than one RIGHT way. And I look poorly upon the people who try and force their ways on someone.

12. My favorite sound is children laughing...specifically mine.

13. I don't really love to work-out just to work-out but I love being active moutain/road biking, running, mountain climbing, wake boarding and playing soccer...although I haven't played in a few years.
14. I'm only 5'3" and was a 400m hurdler/sprinter for SUU. Who says you can't be a good hurdler even if you're short?
15. I miss being a part of an athletic team.
16. I miss getting paid to work out...maybe I should become an aerobic instructor:)
17. Sometimes I stay in my pj's until the afternoon.
18. Most days I wear sweats around the house until I go somewhere, and then when I come home...I put them right back on!
19. I don't like to be touched when I'm sleeping, any one else's movements wake me up.
20. I am an ultra organized person, I believe EVERYTHING should have a place, and everyone in the household should know what the "place" is.
21. I need at least 8-9 1/2 hrs of sleep at night.
22. I didn't develop an appreciation for reading until about 4 months ago.
23. I love the SUN, I love to be warm, and I HATE to be cold. Utah is not my ideal climate.
24. My pet peeve since second grade is tapping and clicking.
25. In highschool I hated girl drama so all my good friends were boys. Subsequently I don't have many good girl friends from highschool and made most of my best girl friends in my adult life.
26. I'm sad that I won't get to spend the one-on-one time with the rest of my children like I have gotten to with my first.

Good job to the people who have been posting 100 things about themselves, I was struggling to make it to 26. Or maybe I'm just not as vain as you :)
