20 months and counting

I'm still a little behind on blogging but a week ago Co hit his 20 month mark. I can't belive my little boy is closer to 2 than to 1, yikes!!! He has been so much fun, and I'm actually really greatful that I won't have a new born baby this summer (I say that because I always said I would space my kids 2 years apart, things change when its reality) Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the fun summer we will have with Co. Last summer I thought we'd have more freedom because he wasn't a new born but then it came and he was taking 4-5hrs of naps during the day, which was great, don't get me wrong I LOVED his naps, I was always able to get so much accomplished but it was very limiting to what we could go do. This summer really will be FUN!! He loves playing with all the neighbors and running around outside, jumping on their trampolines, petting thier dogs, etc. But I can't wait to "DO" more fun things with him that he will love this summer.

This week has been a hard week. I know I have been spoiled with an EASY child, compared to most. And that's why the trantrums and the whinning drive me more crazy than they should, I'm not use to it and I expect more out of my child because I KNOW that's not his real personality. My child doesn't throw tantrums, and I'm not just saying that. He gets mad about things but there is difference between being upset and throwing a tantrum. I'm pretty sure its due to one of his bottom molars but seriously!! He knows the words for almost everything yet in this last week he has just resorted to whinning. But I don't give in to the whinning...so Im not sure why he's still doing it. Come on little tooth!! Just pop your nasty little head through already!! Onto a happier note, he learns and picks things up so quickly it amazes me. Its hard to stay what milestones they hit in the month now because they starting hitting them so rapidly but he has started talking sentences more and putting more and more words together and copying phrases we use:
- I'll get it
- want some, pease (please)
- Bye, bye, momma, doggy, daddy, whatever
- open it, close it, shut it
- There she/he/it is
-where is she/he/it
-oh gosh
-we're home
-let's go
-out/in there

The list goes on and on, I can't even think of all the things he says because he can basically say anything to ask him to say. He remembers a few of his friends names, he likes TONS of movies now instead of just 3. He leaves the "f" off most words except four and five. He has finally started saying the number 1 again, but he will aslo say 2. He knows 10 comes after 9, and part of the alphabet: ABC, PQ, TUV, YZ. If I ask him to sing me a song he will always sing me "ABC". He started saying the word "star" again instead of "how I" like it says in the song. He noticed the B, in Banana, and has started saying Bana, instead of nana. He also started saying gram-ma. This is a word he had refused to stay. One day I heard him through the monitor's saying gram-ma over and over. What a little stinker! His list of animals and their sounds is also endless, he knows so many I can't remember what they are. He knows who he is and can say his name, which is kind of a hard name to pronouce for a little kid. He got croup a few weeks ago and when I took him to the Dr. he weighed 24lbs, so he's finally getting a little heavier. He now has all 8 of his front teeth, both top molars and his right bottom molar, its the left bottom molar that is being stubborn. He is a much pickier eater now but still will eat a good variety. He will play a very simple hide and seek and always wants to do things him "self", that's what he says to you.
And he still has ABSOLUTELY NO interest in sitting on the potty. He always has been one to do things on his OWN time and terms (delivery, crawling, walking). Thankgoodness he had talking on a quicker time schedule!! I am VERY grateful for this because this is one of the reasons he's never been a whinner, he just always told me what he wanted. His latest whinning and trantrums aside he still is such a good little boy and we are so blessed to get to take care of him.

These are his cute aviator sunglasses I got him, that he broke the very same day. Darn it!
