On our way to Arizona from Colorado we passed through Moab and Co spotted an Elephant as we passed a little sign that said Zoo. We weren't in a hurry to get to Arizona so we turned around and went back to the Zoo. It was our kind of Zoo. Small, no people and cool animals that you could hand feed. It only cost $3.75 per person and Co was free. You could buy a bucket of food for $5 to feed all the animals and then a special little cup of food for th e Wallaby for a $1.25. They had a Wallaby, pony, donkey, 2 deer, 2 goats, 2 sheep, pot belly pig, Zebra, 2 exotic looking cows, an assorment of birds, camel, buffaload (as Co calls them, sadly Josh and I don't correct him because we think it's cute) and 2 Ortriches. Co ran from animal to animal. He has some sort of strange love for cows and kept coming back to them. He talked about feeding the goats and deer carrots for over a week. On our drive home he kept asking to "see the animals on the camera" and now that I've loaded them to the computer we look at them as least once a day. He seriously could go to the zoo everyday and never be bored. We did learn that deer are picky eaters. They wouldn't eat the carrots or the peanuts we had, only the grain. And the wallaby would only eat our grapes.
When we arried in Arizona we got out of the car and the first thing Co saw was an airplane and said "Airplane! I drive it?" Josh's grandparents live in the mountains on a private airstrip and everyone has their own hangers connected to their cabin type houses. His grandpa has 5 small planes so Co was very excited to see them all. While in AZ we went to the driving range, went and shot guns (I look like a have a grunt face but it's really because my other eye is closed and I'm aiming. Co played in the sand box for hours, and Co went flying for the first time in a small airplane, while Josh flew and his dad was the co-pilot. Co was so excited, as we were on the taxi runway, he was jabbering away. As soon as we started to take off he noted how "fast" we were and then the fear struck. He didn't cry but he turned around to face me instead of sit on my lap and he just kept looking out the windows with worried eyes. We made it a short flight. When he landed he said "again!" Josh's uncle Cary opened the door and Co yelled "I fly the airplane in the sky!!!" he was so excited, after it was all said and done.
